School workers, teachers claim to be lotto winners

In Central Valley, the town just north of Redding, also known as Shasta Lake City, a group of school workers and teachers have the winning ticket good for Saturday’s Super Lotto $76 million jackpot.

Nancy Gillum, special projects director of the Gateway School District, said she is one of 15 who will have a piece of the prize. She said they all work for the district.

She said the group found out at 10 a.m. yesterday that they had the winning ticket. The numbers were drawn Saturday night.

Although they had the day off Monday because of Lincoln’s birthday, Gillum said they weren’t able to get everyone together for a trip to Sacramento today to claim their prize. The California Lottery office closes at 5 p.m
