The Small Town Post Office

As we get around making deliveries we occasionally deliver to most of the Post Offices on our routes. Some are very unique and almost all of them have the friendliest and most helpful postmasters. Lots of times they will help you find some out of the way oddball address.

Traveling East

My route took me East on Monday. The roads were pretty clear. I did have to go to Big Bend though and that road was a little icy and still covered with snow in most places. I also delivered to Alturas and Likely that day. There were some "snow" geese and goslings in a large pond that wasn't completely frozen over. (Click images for larger picture)

More Snow for Mount Shasta

Benefiting from a string of snowstorms that has stocked its slopes, the north state ski park has the deepest snow base of any ski hill in the country, according to a pair of powder-watching Web sites. The ski park had a base of 190 inches at the bottom and 233 inches up top Saturday with more snow falling in the latest storm.
